Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Abbey Ridgway, I’ve lived on the gold coast my whole life where I went to school with my soul mate, best friend and now husband. We have two dogs, Angel and Demon who I am obsessed with. I love to laugh, sing and dance, I love to have deep conversations with my closest friends and talk about how our possibilities are endless. I strive to always be the best version of myself; even if that means encouraging myself to ‘lay off being my best’. I started this blog to share what I’m learning and hopefully my story will inspire someone else to want only the best for themselves.
My journey began 5 years ago. I felt unmotivated, scared and extremely doubtful. I didn’t know then how blessed I was to have someone like my husband; who was a qualified PT and knew what consistency and a bit of hard work can do.
Tom helped train me with weights at the gym and I can’t even tell you how many times I left mid session crying because I would let insecurities consume me; leading me to believe I didn’t belong at the gym and ‘maybe I’ll just never be one of those girls with a 6 pack or a banging bod’.
To this date I have lost a total of 24kgs. On days I didn’t want to go to the gym Tom was there to encourage me; when I wanted to eat an entire tub of ice cream to myself he was there to remind me of my workout that I had completed that same morning. Little did I know that through setting goals consistently at the gym and in my everyday routine that it would build a frame work of, what would become, habitual goal setting and accomplishing.
